Important Dates to Note

EPIC is a national platform to support and celebrate teacher-led classroom research. Our goal is to give every teacher the tools, support, and recognition to turn their classroom innovations into evidence that can benefit the whole education community.

Any school teacher interested in exploring and improving their teaching practices through classroom-based inquiry is welcome. EPIC is designed to be accessible and useful for teachers across all boards, grades, and subjects.

No prior research experience is needed. EPIC is designed for everyday teachers and provides simple guides, examples, and templates to help you document your inquiry clearly.

EPIC invites teachers to carry out classroom-based action research rooted in everyday teaching challenges. We are not looking for academic studies — rather, we seek small, well-documented interventions that reflect real practice and thoughtful reflection.

We have curated six broad themes under which teachers can choose their focus area, with examples. You ca find them on the Home Page under 'Themes'.

Participants will receive:

- Access to orientation sessions/webinars and check-ins

- A submission template to present your findings in a clear, reflective way

Most teachers will work on their projects over 4–6 weeks, ideally integrated with their regular teaching. We’ve designed EPIC to fit into your schedule — not add a whole new workload.

• Registrations: 1st July to 20th August, 2025

• Abstract Submission Deadline: 20th August, 2025

• Final Paper Submission Deadline: 24th November, 2025

• National Conference & Recognition: January 2026

Both submissions will be made via an online form that will be shared on the website.

We will provide:

• A template for the abstract

• A clear format for the final paper

These will be shared after registration.

The abstract is a short proposal (approx. 150–200 words) that outlines:

• The classroom challenge you want to explore

• What intervention or strategy you plan to try

• What kind of changes you hope to observe

The final paper is a structured report (approx. 1000–1200 words) submitted after you have tried the intervention. It describes:

• What you actually did?

• What changed (student behaviour, understanding, engagement, etc.?

• What you learned from the process?

That’s okay! We still encourage you to go ahead and submit your paper. In fact, unsuccessful trials often offer the most valuable insights. What matters is honest reflection — not proving something worked.

Our team will review all submissions. Selected teachers will be invited to share their work at the EPIC Conference in January 2026, where their stories will be heard by a national audience.

Yes, you can make changes before the abstract submission deadline. We understand that classroom realities evolve, and it's perfectly okay if your focus shifts slightly. If you wish to revise your abstract after the deadline, feel free to reach out to us at epic.core@ei.study — we’ll be happy to support you.

• Abstract: Around 150–200 words

• Final Paper: Around 1000–1200 words (upto 4 A4 pages)

These are flexible — clarity is more important than length.

Yes, collaboration is welcome — whether it’s two teachers from the same school or from different schools. Just make sure your project clearly describes each person’s role.

We are here to support you. Once you register, you’ll receive contact details and ways to reach out — including webinars, Whatsapp community and email support.

Shortlisted papers will be presented by their authors work at the conference which would also feature keynote sessions and a live Q&A with a jury. Outstanding entries will be recognised and shared widely.

Great EPIC inquiries are:

• Clear – What did you try, why, and how?

• Reflective – What changed? What did you learn?

• Rooted in practice – Based on a real classroom challenge or question

• Well-documented – Using simple observations, data or reflections

While outstanding submissions will be recognized, EPIC is not a competition. The goal is to encourage learning and sharing, not ranking.

Yes. All participating teachers will receive a certificate. Exceptional submissions will be recognized at the national conference and shared across the teaching community.

Only participants who complete the final paper submission will receive an EPIC certificate. Abstract submission is the first step, but the real value comes from reflecting and documenting the classroom experience.
